We offer training in small groups or one on one. Training in all aspects of computers and technology from the simple to the specialized. If you are looking for training not listed, send me a message.
NEED SOME TRAINING?
All Training courses are now Pay what you can. There will be no set fees, and anything collected will be shared with the Legion.
Computer training is currently being conducted at the Nipigon Legion to allow for proper social distancing protocols. You are invited to bring your own computer/laptop/mobile device to follow the training using your own technology during the courses.
Courses all follow a standard presentation/seminar format with a large portion of time devoted to question and answer following the presentation. Question and answers can be on any technology subject from any level of experience during any course/seminar.
Basic computers and technology is an overview of most of the other courses and is a pre-requisite. A basic understanding of technology is essential for further training.

The course covers all basic aspects of your computer, identifying the different parts and how to use some of the basic features. This is an introductory course which touches on all subjects from the other courses below.
This course runs one on one or small groups and is specially designed for inexperienced computer and technology users and aimed to take the fear out of using technology.

The course covers all basic aspects of day to day uses of your computer. By the end of this course, you should be able to use Email, Facebook, transferring pictures and files as well as basic Windows 10 features. You will also understand some of the necessary security measures needed for your computer.

Smartphones and Tablets
The course covers all basic aspects of day to day uses of your mobile devices – smartphones and tablets. By the end of this course, you should be able to navigate your device, find, download and uninstall apps, change some basic settings and connect with a computer. You will also understand some of the necessary security measures needed for your devices.

Computer Safety
The course covers all the essential aspects of staying safe on your computer. Identifying potential threats and making sure your system stays clean. Identify and overcome phishing scams through email, phone and on your computer/web browsing. Download and remove malware for free with confidence. The number one way to remain safe on your computer is with knowledge.

Navigating the Internet
The Internet is the primary destination for nearly everyone with a computer or mobile device today. Will discuss the basics of setting up your home internet as well as connecting when you aren’t at home. Will critique and explain which ISP is a better choice for this area and why. Will cover web browsing/searching, Facebook, Email, Cloud Computing and security.
